A Second Life

It seems so very remote yet related a second in life that created a second life
A predictable pattern that one unconsciously followed that now seemed hollow
Pursuing education, work that was available, setting dreams within one’s grasp
Abiding by social norms and customs that even as it seemed difficult to fathom

What seemed to be great achievements now seem to hold no relevant meaning
Adjusting and adaptation to existing environment needs now seems so self limiting
Need to gain approval of those whose opinions one counted now looks very archaic
The feeling of inter-dependency and attachment seems more a baggage than a blessing

The choices made in life seemed so predictable that revolved around those who one knew
There was hardly any quality time spent in self introspection to guide and set a new direction
The past seemed so full of activities that it was difficult to fathom how quickly time had flown
The assumptions and beliefs influencing one’s past decisions seems to have exploited the innocent form

The role models around whose choices in life one tried to weave one’s own story
There were limited inputs available on their daily lives on what one now calls history
It seemed so very normal that one benefits from experiences of those who lived in the past
It now seems so very illogical that one ignored one’s unique identity in the quest to force fit a mask

One gets so very bound by the feelings and emotions that glues you to relationships and puts you in a bind
One forgets objectivity and loses one’s sanity even as one fails to discover that they possess an individual mind
One may consciously choose to remain blind as much as one puts up a superficial facade of appearing to be kind
One acknowledges the limited world view they had lived all their life while performing tasks part of the daily grind

A time comes when one comes at a cross-roads forcing one to take critical decisions
The time and setting may not be under one’s control nor may be the eventual implication
One may see life that has passed by as a movie played back in fast forward motion
One may feel compelled to take the next step that may impact future generations

One realizes that everything is an illusion and what is perceived to be real may be surreal
One begins to accept that societal norms may be just a practice that appears in diverse forms
One begins to understand life in its true sense and begins a life endowed with peace and harmony
One begins to accept that every second is endowed with the seed to sow a new life and destiny

One needs to satisfy some biological needs required for one’s survival and sustenance
It seems a paradox that we live a life driven by society rather than drive societal trends
Those who stood up for their rights may have not been recognized by their own generation
The future remembers and worships those trend-setters and the present sets self defeating limitations

The tales from mythology may have lessons to impart on societal conduct in the eyes of those who we now call great
Their life experiences and their environment captured the imagination and one never ever questioned what was right
The narration of their fights for justice and standing up for fairness and right conduct always provided tons of delight
It just seems so very out of context that one forgets the present and gets caught up in fantasises and loses one’s sight

It is time to wake up and live up to one’s individual destiny without limitations of one’s environment
It is time to accept one’s realities without getting into the blame game and analyze one’s predicament
It is time to stop having any expectations from any one and realize that each one is impermanent
It is time to start living a second life without thinking what society thinks about one’s temperament

The journey is what we make of it and we infuse emotions of our choice and we have the final say
The circumstances notwithstanding our decisions help keep us on track and guide the pathway
The faith and trust in self and the Universal Power is all that is needed to live life in its current form
The innate ability to recreate and regenerate will help us in facing and overcoming inner and external storm!
