City Monsoon

The Monsoon is coming back with a bang
So warned the pied cuckoo as it hummed and sang
For a moment one got memories very nostalgic
But then realized that actions again need to be quick

Up goes the umbrella, around goes the raincoat
Given a choice would like to reconsider my vote
The cars are honking, the trains go halting
The stress is building, the legs go sinking

The wind goes blowing, the bags go flying,
The pressure starts rising, temperature nose-diving,
The eyes blink faster, aiming to sort out the clutter,
The mouth begins to mutter, as anger raises up a flutter

The clothes all around tend to closer stick
As the sound of phones all around makes one feel sick
The voices gets lost as the noisy drops takes over
One begins to realize that nature is no push over

There is nothing to differentiate between sweat and rain
As all efforts to follow hygiene appears to go in vain
There are feelings of pain, as one attempts to remain sane,
As one realizes the importance of rain to sow the daily grain

There is definitely a balance, the benefits of staying home,
Calling up the office and having a valid reason to atone
Brewing a cup of one’s favorite drink, catching up a lost wink,
All in the name of avoiding travel in the so called horrible stink!
