Election Time

It is the election season in all flavor and flow
And the seasoned politicians are putting up their best show
The first timers trying their might for their place in the sun
Each trying their best to prove they possess credentials next to none

The target audience seems to be in a constant state of flux
Their offering of menu seems more preordained on a state of luck
The sincerity quotient and their internal sense of propriety
Seems to finally matter as they endeavor to play the role of all mighty

The vote for individual and party ideology conflicts with candidate physiology
The desire to vote meets resistance from candidates who forever are willing to float
The desire to change and influence the system finds a match in general apathy
It is no wonder that after the periodical loot people forever lament their tales of pity

It is not easy to always make the right choice every time
Experiences of life validates decisions as one journeys in the sands of time
Having a decisive choice and exercising to negate the same
Is akin to trying to fix the frame and yet forever being lame

The percentage of turnout ends up being a numerical equation
That ends up reflecting the views of those who chose to play a role in creation
In this mad craze and frenzy where every action is matched by critical deprecation
One needs to acknowledge the belief in those who chose to make their contribution

Analysis may provide perspectives based on various segment of population
The same should not deprecate the lot whose rank may vary in the order of evolution
Every human has a final say based on what are their life priorities
No one size can fit all based on the views of the elitist majority

All is fair in the good old world of inherited democracy
As we aim to trust the maturity of people to recognize meritocracy
Establishments may have their traditional practices of advocating autocracy
In the larger time frame of life it can’t forever stand the test of hypocrisy!
