Lasting Thoughts

When you see a person, who is old and sick,
Do you give yourself a kick, or do your eyes go for an unmindful flick,
In the current fast paced age, when every moment goes for a tick,
In the craze of the mouse, that just needs a click,

When you see a person, who is old and sick,
Are you one of the persons of a pick,
Who lives on the thoughts that have depth and genuine stick,
Who thinks of the person whose time does not tick

The person’s life has come to a standstill,
But he also had lived a life on the frills,
He now requires the courage of a person not meek,
The able support of one, who trembles not as a twig that queaks,

The understanding of one, who lends the courage to standby,
The simple pleasures which they now seek,
Lending an ear, acting as a seer,
Justifying the relationship of the near and the Dear!
