Just Grow Up

Remember those days in your younger days when your only wish was to grow up fast
You dreamt of fulfilling those desires that were apparently reserved for the older cast
You jumped with joy when you crossed the legal age and felt a new sense of freedom
You were ecstatic on getting some of the licenses and only dreamt of achieving stardom

You had no time to reflect and think about the long-term outcome of any of your actions
You wanted to feel a sense of inclusion within your group and this resulted in imitation
Your choices that you took were not uncommon and you were not yet ready to stand out
You always used to worry about the worldly reaction and the concern that you had no clout

Time passed by and your circle of friends changed as your preferences evolved over time
You had developed depth of knowledge in your field and felt confident as you scaled the peak
You looked out for a role befitting your qualification that would further your own reputation
You desired to establish your credibility by completing assignments with levels of distinction

Time further passed by and you went through a series of personal and professional transition
They were not the easiest of moments that you faced and you had to act without any option
There were various feelings that were generated that made you indulge in self introspection
There were moments when you reflected on the real changes that occurred in your evolution

The moments of the past was ripe in your memory as if it had occurred just the previous day
The present moments required you to continue to enact your act in the larger worldly play
You still needed to gain accolades but had apparently lost the drive to continue in the fray
There were times when you reflected whether anything had really changed during your stay

You always had conflicting thoughts about your own sense of really growing up over time
You begin to ask what truly matters in life about the larger purpose of your own existence
You began to reflect on the important principles that operated consistently across all ages
You began to read up on the philosophy of life and began to think on the wisdom of the sages

You realized that many situations are just transient and your experience equally momentary
You realized that this life in this form is transient and you need to handle both joy and fury
You realized the need to retain your sanity and maintain calm in periodic moments of worry
You realized that desires not getting fulfilled may be in the larger good and reflect in history

You realized the true meaning of growing up was never intended to reflect in physical form
You realized that growing up on the material and mental plane may help quieten a storm
You realized that growing up in stature in society was purely need based without stability
You realized that growing up was letting your soul spiritually evolve and finding its own equilibrium!
