I have only seen it so far happen to others
An experience that brings two engaged souls to march closer
Knowledge of the worldly affairs is just plain theory
Until one undertakes the journey to create one’s history
I never know what is going to happen to me
It is difficult to picture myself going weak on my knee
It seems so very dramatic ring in hand and flowers in tow
The traditional bow and the after effects of an ever shine glow
The walk around the fire melts away duality to form a unique bond
The search for one’s partner and ecstasy on getting the other’s nod
The echo sounds in the universe when head and heart strike a chord
The foundation is laid and the bugle begins to melodiously sound
It no longer seems that one has a different path to tread
It no longer seems a destiny that one may have at times to dread
The mutiny of staying single seems to be forever dead
The welcome to the married herd and the face no longer turns red
The union no longer prompts one to desert the survival ship
The vision of the shared future is no longer just a hazy blip
As one wonders about the fruits of the wish fulfilling tree
The joy and nectar flows in gay abandon to its own decree!
