The Common Man

As co-inhabitants of this Planet Earth it may not appeal to be called as the Common Man
But yet when desires take time or worse never gets met reality strikes hard the Common Man
There is nothing derogatory or offense meant to be classified in the cadre of the Common Man
It is just another way to group a set of people with different privileges and a constrained lifestyle

The Common Man may have all the needs and desires as expressed by others in his clan
Right from Birth to Death he may live a life of anonymity many a time without a set plan
He needs to meet his biological impulses and he goes about fulfilling them the way he can
It may either never occur or he may just give up his dreams of an existence beyond the frying pan

His days may be filled with discussions on the actions taken by the so called elite in the world
His ideas and arguments though may never see light beyond his immediate close knit herd
He does get his moment in the sun occasionally when the elite need him to cast his vote
There are the times when he struts about with pride about his contribution in guarding the fort

His life at the workplace may sustain his livelihood and provide him means for his daily food
He may not have time to think about improving the world much less extricate himself from the wood
His days and nights may pass at a pace that he may never be able to keep count with
As he evolves with time meeting worldly commitments he may lose track of reality and myth

His life as a family man may be filled with normal feelings and emotions of pleasure and pain
As he goes about fulfilling his obligations he may be unable to assign every action a defined measure
He may fill up his days and nights with wit and humour and an uncanny sense of imagination
He may infuse an enthusiasm and breathe life into people that may be his existential contribution

His life as a co-contributor to society may depend upon his power of visualization and spare time
His priorities and interest areas may rhyme with focused groups working to improve their clan
He may be one of those who may strike out on his own and lead society on to altogether new front
He may be one of those who may choose to support from the back and not lead from the forefront

He may be one of those who take up responsibility for maintaining their own fitness regime
He may choose a sport or activity that he diligently persists to maintain the right figure and fit
He may never make it big to represent his state or nation and attain international fame and glory
He may feel a sense of contentment in clocking small wins and momentarily let go all his worries

He may at times question his own existence and aim to discover his purpose in life
He may want to emulate the spiritual teachers who provide tips to avoid daily strife
He may like to retire from the daily pressures and challenges and live a relaxed existence
As time flies he procrastinates for a better tomorrow to initiate practices of abstinence

He may never be individually important enough to have people speak much about him
He may not have journalists allocate space to capture his thoughts in daily broad sheet
He may at times align with a group and may have views captured and presented in a tabloid
He recognizes the fact that there is always a gap in his life and he may lack means to fill up the void

He is the man on the street who gets impacted by regular security scares and faces the heat
He is the man who gets impacted by the movement in commodity prices and may skip a heart beat
He is the man who gets impacted when Nature shows its darker side and demonstrates its fury
He is the man who individually may have no say but when united can impact the ways of the world!
