Give and Take

It seems so very logical the concept of give and take
To catch a wink of sleep you need to let go of being awake
In order to fill up the glass again you need to empty it first
To create a new future and reality you need to have a thirst

How very uncomfortable it would be to continuously pile on food
How very unwieldy it would be to wear multiple layers of clothing
In order to get walking you need to give up the comfort of a seat
To embrace a new idea you need to avoid developing cold feet

Imagine filling up your pockets with all the money in the world
You can only aspire to stack in your pockets as much they can hold
Should you aim to go against nature resources will get drained
Sooner than later lack of mobility may leave you behind very pained

To wear a different colour and shade you need to give up set patterns
To think better you need to let your beliefs routinely face up to the knife
The shift in gears in your automobile requires you to commit to a certain motion
It requires you to commit to the long haul whatever be the levels of corrosion

The night gets left behind as you look forward to the day
The light is welcomed as you leave behind the dark bay
As you drive down the tunnel looking for the final opening
You need to be convinced that nature intends the bird to fly its wings!
