Tradition

A habit that gets initiated by an individual at a point of time
To meet the pressing need of the hour as he deems fit and fine
It may not necessarily be accepted easily in the prevailing social fabric
As time passes awkwardness will make way for the lamp to find its wick

Many a practice and belief gets passed from one generation to the other
Power of prose and poetry have been known to ensure its preservation
Many a custom may never get questioned on their relevance or need to exist
At times changes gain legitimacy due to the influence of some who persist

Even the persons who invented the sacred tradition may not have clarity of sight
As much as succeeding generations following would like to believe he had the foresight
To new initiators it may just be a way to establish and consolidate their own position
The means adopted may differ from rejecting existing tradition to push their interpretation

Any new change would have attracted its given share of confrontation
When different schools of thought collide there is bound to be a chain reaction
The perceived interference or lack of wisdom may invite the conservative’s share of disdain
As time flies society seems to forget the values that predated the existence of current system

Many an existing tradition may never have gone through much levels of deliberation
The past is also witness to new practices that got invented to enhance the role of an institution
There may be a wide gap in the current understanding of tradition in relation to its conception
Every generation that adapts to suit the needs of the day demonstrate their right to guide evolution!

Replaying the scenes of lives observed and thinking through the pages of history as it evolved in the sands of time.....May be what we spoke yesterday may also have triggered the same......
